Bio:

Liz Gargas is an oil painter who is in a transition. Newer work is moving into exploring the idea that the painting is the memory as though it could be a snapshot on the table. She uses personal experience in tandem with videography, photography and photoshop to gather and create reference imagery for her paintings.  She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in Painting and Illustration Spring of 2011.  Gargas is a fellow of the Brush Creek Artist Residency in Saratoga, Wyoming.  Recent exhibitions include a solo show “Wildflowers” at Solfire Gallery in Sacramento CA (2022), “Spring Flowers” at the KBM Gallery in CA (2023), “17th Annual Emerald Spring Painting Exhibition”, one oil painting, juror: Bets Cole Springfield, OR (2023) and “Persistence” at the Museum of Northern California (2018).  She was awarded the Gladys Bacon Founders Award at the Emerald Spring exhibition in Springfield, Oregon.
